About Carter & Co

Hi Friends,  

I'm Alicia and I'm the founder and creator behind Carter & Co Candle Studio. I personally pour each candle, mix all the scents, label each jar, and set each wick. I am the jack-of-all-trades here at Carter & Co. 

I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia with my husband, son, dog, and cat. By day I am a Registered Nurse and by night I am a Candle Maker.

Carter & Co Candle Studio began in 2018, shortly after the birth of my son, Carter.  I was searching for a hobby that I hoped one day would turn into a business. 

As I am sure you have guessed, Carter & Co was named after my son. I was in search of a unique name that had meaning behind it. So what better way to showcase that than naming it after my brown haired-brown eyed baby boy. 

I have always loved candles and anything that could make my home smell amazing but what I didn't love was how ill I could become from those very items. So the search began. How could I make my own candles? 

Several years later and our journey here at Carter & Co continues.
